Job Description
Clicks Group is hiring shop assistants and cashiers. The role’s responsibilities include providing effective customer service, accurately processing point of sale (POS) transactions, and assisting with merchandising efforts to ensure shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing. The Shop Assistant Cashier helps each customer have a great and satisfying shopping experience by providing friendly service and smooth operating support.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out all operational operations at the point of sale in a timely and effective way.
- Maintaining high levels of accuracy when scanning products and collecting money for purchases, including processing clubcard benefits.
- To guarantee that currency is always handled safely.
- To promote the Clicks clubcard and enroll new clubcard members in order to meet clubcard participation goals.
- To make customers aware of deals in order to boost sales and guarantee that customers “feel good and pay less”.
- To provide exceptional customer service by serving as a brand ambassador, remaining visible, and providing a polite and professional service.
- To effectively carry out and maintain all merchandising and general housekeeping chores in accordance with store and visual merchandise standards.
- To support the Group’s aim of becoming the customer’s first choice health and beauty shop by embodying and promoting the business values.
- Maintain current knowledge of items, ranges, specials, and events in order to deliver accurate information to customers at all times.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Desirable: 50% math and 50% English at the grade 12 level.
Desirable / Advantageous
- Experience in a customer-facing job within a retail/FMCG store operations setting.
